3 Day Bootcamp for Mirantis OpenStack

Our most popular course. Aimed at systems administrators and IT professionals looking to get started on an OpenStack Cloud deployment, this three day course provides an intensive mix of lectures, demos with individual labs and group exercises.

Day 1 provides an OpenStack overview and introduction to its architecture. It covers: the project goals and use cases; basic operating and deployment principles; cloud usage patterns, with an OpenStack codebase overview; creating networks/tenants/roles; cloud networking; and OpenStack tuning and troubleshooting.

Day 2 Starts with a review of cloud storage, and moving on to OpenStack in Production. It covers: deploying OpenStack for real-world use, and practice of OpenStack operation on multiple nodes; Swift Object Storage use cases, architecture, capabilities, configuration, security and deployment; advanced topics in deployment and production operations workshop; comparison of VMware with OpenStack; and a look ahead to the OpenStack roadmap.

Day 3 The third day will guide you in deploying OpenStack on your own. You will learn exactly how the components are manually installed and configured. You will be able to bring up your own OpenStack environment without using automated tools or scripts. Our instructors will guide you step by step through this process and get you an in-depth view at how things work under the hood. In the second half of the third day, we’ll show you how it’s done using Puppet and Cobbler via our Fuel product. The class will introduce you to a wide variety of technologies, including Linux, Puppet, Cobbler, MySQL and RabbitMQ.
