Du hast ein Startup/KMU gegründet. Du arbeitest im ICT-Bereich und Dein Startup oder KMU ist ein innovatives, ICT-basiertes Konzept, Produkt oder ein Service in diesem Bereich, der das Potential hat, den bestehenden Markt aufzumischen. Du suchst nach schnellem und finanziellem anderweitigem Support zwischen 500.000 Euro und 2,5 Millionen Euro, um eine neue innovative Entwicklung voran zu treiben. Dann ist dies genau der richtige Workshop für Dich.

Hintergrund

Die Europäische Union stellt zum ersten Mal in Ihrer über 60-jährigen Geschichte Fördermittel bereit, die direkt und unmittelbar an Startups und KMUs fließen werden. Aus dem sogenannten "Horizont 2020" 80 Milliarden Euro schweren Fond fließen 2,8 Milliarden direkt an Unternehmer, Startups und KMUs. Unternehmer und Startups können Förderpakete im Rahmen von 50.000 € bis 2,5 Mio. € beantragen und erhalten.

Im Vergleich zu traditionellen Investments aus dem Privatsektor ist das EU-Funding nur an wenige Bedingungen geknüpft und erfordert nicht, dass ihr Unternehmensanteile an eurer Idee oder eurem Startup abtretet. Des Weiteren müsst ihr keine Sicherheiten oder Asset-Garantien vorlegen und auch keine Zinsen zahlen. Zu guter letzt: Sollte eure Idee nicht funktionieren oder euer Startup scheitern, muss das Funding nicht zurück gezahlt werden.

Der Workshop

Auf dem Workshop lernt ihr, was das KMU-Instrument Phase 2 (!) im Rahmen des Horizont 2020 Förderinstruments bedeutet; wie es funktioniert und wie ihr Zugang zu den Fördermitteln erhaltet, um das Geschäftsmodell eures Startups / KMU zu skalieren. Insbesondere lernt ihr, wie ihr Anträge erfolgreich einreicht, wenn euer Startup / KMU für eine Förderung in Frage kommt. Es werden euch sowohl der gesamte Prozess  von Antragstellen bis hin zur Bewilligung, als auch die Kriterien, die für die Bewilligung ausschlaggebend sind, vorgestelllt. Zudem erfahrt ihr, welche unterschiedlichen Aktivitäten alle für eine Förderung in Frage kommen.

Für euch am wichtigsten: Im Workshop erhaltet ihr alle Informationen, Tools und das erforderliche "hands-on-training", um einen eigenen Antrag erfolgreich einzureichen. Die Förderung erhaltet ihr aus dem 65 Milliarden Euro EU-Fond - die einzelnen Fördersummen belaufen sich in Phase 2 zwischen 500.000 Euro und 2,5 Millionen Euro je Unternehmen. Die Beantragung der Fördersummen wird euch anhand eines Fallbeispiels eines typischen Unternehmers und dessen Startup/KMU sowie anhand einer detailierten Schritt-für-Schritt-live-Präsentation im offiziellen EU-Template gezeigt.

Kumardev Chatterjee, der den Workshop leiten wird, ist nicht nur Gründer und Präsident des EYIF, sondern war in den vergangenen drei Jahren als Berater der EU direkt am Design der KMU- und Startup-Förderstrategie des Horizon 2020 Projekts beteiligt. Als Experte im Auftrag der Europäischen Kommission hat er persönlich im Jahr 2013 Anträge mit einem Förderungsportfolio von insgesamt 20 Mio. € evaluiert. Herr Chatterjee hat langjährige Kompetenz als erfahrener IKT-Experte, er arbeitete in der Industrie und ist selber Innovateur und Unternehmer. Herr Chatterjee ist seit langer Zeit an der Gestaltung der EU-Policy, die Fördergelder, Anträge und ähnliche Projekte betreffen, beteiligt und wird in dieser Hinsicht als einer der führenden Experten in diesem Feld gesehen. Er wird den Teilnehmern daher Informationen und Tipps aus erster Hand geben.

Das übergeordnete Ziel der EU für Forschung und Innovation im Bereich der Informations- und Kommunikationtechnolgien (IKT) ist, europäische Bürger und Unternehmen im Rahmen von Horizont 2020 von Vorteilen durch die Entwicklung dieser Technologien profitieren zu lassen. Dafür wurde das Horizont 2020-Projekt von 2014 bis 2020 mit einem Budget von insgesamt 80 Milliardne Euro ausgestattet. Es finanziert unter anderem auch hoch-innovative Unternehmen durch ein spezielles KMU-Instrument. Für dieses Instrument stehen von 2014-2020 rund 3 Mrd. € zur Verfügung. Es unterstützt Unternehmern dabei, innovative Ideen für Produkte, Dienstleistungen oder Prozesse zu entwickeln, die bereit sind, dem globalen Wettbewerb standzuhalten. Horizont 2020 für IKT ist ein Kernbestandteil der Strategie Europa 2020 und die Antwort der Europäischen Union auf die Wirtschaftskrise. Gleichzeitig ist Horizon 2020 für IKT ein Instrument, um in der EU in zukünftige Jobs und Wachstum zu sorgen, um den Sorgen der BürgerInnen über ihre Lebensumstände, ihre Sicherheit und ihre Umwelt zu begegnen und um die Position der EU als globaler Standort für Research, Innovation und Technologiie zu stärken. How to Access the €80 Billion EU Grant Fund for your Startup or SME

Is it for me?

You have already startet your StartUp / SME. Your StartUp /SME is an innovative ICT based concept, product or service which has the potential to ultimately disrupt existing markets. You are looking for swift financial support of between €500.000 and €2,5 million in 2014. You already have done a market study and you want to continue developing a new product.

Background

The European Union has for the first time in its 60 year history, launched programs to directly fund entrepreneurs and StartUps and SMEs. This is the so-called “HORIZON 2020" which has €80 billion in grant funding available, of which €2.8 billion is purely for Entrepreneurs, Startups and SMEs. Entrepreneurs and Startups can apply for and get grants of between €50.000 and €2,5 million. 

SME Phase 2 Workshop

This workshop will explain what the SME Instrument Phase 2 EU funding for Entrepreneurs, StartUps and SMEs is, how it works and how you can use it to scale-up your startup. It will explain how to assess if your StartUp is eligible for this funding and how to apply - the whole process from proposal to grant, including what types of activities are funded.

Most importantly, this hands-on, interactive workshop will equip you with the information, tools and hands-on training to write winning proposals to get direct grants for your StartUp / SME from the €65 Billion EU Grant Fund, of between €500.000 and €2,5 million. Taking a case study of a typical entrepreneur and their StartUp / SME, a detailed step-by-step demonstration of how to write a proposal for the SME Instrument Phase 2 will be demonstrated with the official templates.

Finally, the workshop will enable you to rate your idea and proposals and improve them before submitting.

The Workshop will be led by Kumardev Chatterjee, Founder and President of the European Young Innovators Forum, who has been involved in the design and setting up of the Horizon 2020 SME instrument over the last three years and who as a European commission appointed independent expert, has evaluated proposals for the European Commission for a €20 Million grant portfolio in 2013. Mr. Chatterjee has extensive competences as an experienced ICT expert, industry professional and innovator and entrepreneur himself. Mr. Chatterjee has a long history of involvement in EU policy, grants, proposals, and projects and as such is seen as leading expert in the field. He will provide first-hand information and tips during the sessions.
