Social Media has already changed the world. It's changed our relationships and economies, toppled governments and both fuelled and quenched riots. It's the mirror of humanity, "owned" by everybody but truly guided by only a select few. The historical consequences of this technology are not yet clear.

Many have seized the opportunity to drive change with this new tool but few discussions have considered the moral implications of such deep and significant societal behaviour change.

Dr Paul Redmond, University of Liverpool will set the scene, looking at how our ever expanding social platforms present an opportunity, if used effectively. Paul will discuss how young people have access to greater tools than ever before but do they really understand how this may potentially impact upon their employment and future goals? Do the younger generation have any concept of the value of anonymity?

Paul will then join our panel of experts to discuss the bigger picture. In a world when everyone has a voice, is our right to free speech being censored? Many have seized the opportunity to drive change with these new tools but few discussions have considered the moral implications of such deep and significant societal behaviour change. This event will bring together the faith sector; police authority; social media behaviour and politics to tackle the most burning morality questions.

Join us as we bring together thought leaders representing Faith sector, Police Authority, Social Media Behaviour, Mass Media, Journalism and Politics especially to tackle those moral questions. Taking place Tuesday 8th July, 12.15 - 14.30 at the Liverpool Anglican Cathedral. The event will begin with a networking lunch and tickets are priced at £20.00 (+ VAT) per person. Book online, email: events@liverpoolchamber.org.uk or call us now on 0151 227 1234.

We look forward to seeing you there.
