This course is aimed at NHS Strategic decision makers.

Aim of the Workshop

To train and exercise delegates in the roles and responsibilities required for emergency preparedness, resilience and response, and allow them to achieve the competencies set out in the guidance from Department of Health and NHS England.

  • Defensive decision making
  • Communication and media challenges
  • Working through strategic / tactical scenarios

 

Verity Kemp and Rob Ellett jointly developed Strategic Leadership in a Crisis while working at the Department of Health. Since its launch in 2009, between them and on behalf of DH and NHS England, they have delivered every event to date. Participation in the course is a requirement of NHS England for its on call staff. It is designed specifically to meet the needs of the NHS, the content focusing on preparing NHS Strategic commanders for their role in leading the NHS response to disruptive challenges. It will help Strategic commanders meet the competencies for a strategic response in an emergency.

This training is aimed at Director level participants only.  Registration will be monitored to ensure that this is upheld.
